About This Tool

Combine Files allows you to merge multiple PDF documents, images (JPG, PNG, WebP, BMP), Office documents (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and plain text into a single cohesive PDF file quickly and easily. Whether you're consolidating multi-format reports, combining scanned receipts, or assembling presentations, this tool makes the process seamless.

Simply upload your files, arrange them in your desired order using drag-and-drop, and merge them into one document. Non-PDF files are automatically converted to high-quality PDF pages on the fly, and bookmarks can optionally be maintained from each source file's name.

All conversions and merging happen locally in your browser sandbox, ensuring complete privacy for your sensitive documents without uploading to remote servers.

Before you merge, rename your files with a numeric prefix such as 01, 02, 03 so they load in a sensible order, then fine-tune the sequence by dragging thumbnails. If one source file has pages you do not need, trim it first with Delete PDF Pages so the combined document stays lean. Check the page orientation of scanned files too, because a sideways page is easier to fix before merging than after.

Merging often involves the most sensitive paperwork people own: tax returns, lease agreements, medical records, or a full job application. TokPDF joins the files inside your browser tab using WebAssembly, so nothing is transmitted to a remote server and no copy is left behind anywhere. There is no queue to wait in and no account to create, and the same page works on a laptop, a work computer, or a phone browser.

Frequently Asked Questions

What file formats can I combine?

You can combine standard PDF files, images (JPG, PNG, WebP, BMP, SVG), Office documents (Word .docx/.doc, Excel .xlsx/.xls, PowerPoint .pptx/.ppt), and text files (.txt, .md).

How many files can I merge at once?

You can merge up to 100 files at once, with a total combined size of up to 500MB.

Will non-PDF files maintain their visual quality?

Yes! Images and documents are rendered at high resolution and fitted to standard pages without lossy compression.

Can I merge password-protected PDFs?

Password-protected PDFs need to be decrypted first. Use our Decrypt PDF tool to remove the password before merging.

How do I merge PDF files on iPhone or Android?

Open tokpdf.com in Safari, Chrome, or another modern mobile browser, tap to add your PDFs from Files or your downloads folder, arrange them, and merge. The work is done by your phone's browser, so you do not need to install an app. Very large documents may take longer on a phone than on a computer.

Does merging PDFs reduce quality?

No. Merging copies the existing pages into a new document without re-compressing text or images, so the output looks the same as the originals. If the combined file ends up too large to email, you can run it through Compress PDF afterward and choose how much quality to trade for size.

Can I merge PDF and JPG files together?

Yes. You can add JPG and other image files alongside your PDFs in the same list. Each image is converted to a PDF page during the merge, and you can drag it to any position, which is handy for adding a photographed receipt or ID scan to a report.

Does TokPDF add a watermark to merged PDFs?

No. TokPDF does not add any watermark, logo, or extra page to the merged file. The output contains only the pages you combined, in the order you chose, and you can download it right away without registering.
