About This Tool
Chat with PDF turns any document into a conversation. Upload a contract, research paper, manual or report and ask questions in plain language: "What is the notice period?", "Which methods did the authors use?", "What does the warranty cover?". Answers arrive in seconds and every statement cites the page it came from.
Citations are clickable: tap [p.12] and the preview beside the chat jumps straight to page 12, so you can check the original wording instead of trusting a summary. Suggested starter questions help you get going, follow-up questions keep the context of the conversation, and you can copy any answer or export the whole chat as a text file.
How your data is handled: your PDF never leaves your device. TokPDF reads the text in your browser and sends only the relevant text passages to our AI server (Cloudflare Workers AI) to write the answer. Text, questions and answers are not stored and are not used for training. Scanned PDFs can be read with in-browser OCR first.

Is Chat with PDF free?
Yes. Everyone gets a free daily allowance of questions without signing up. TokPDF Pro raises the daily allowance for heavy use.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The file stays on your device. Only the extracted text passages needed for an answer are sent to our AI server over an encrypted connection; they are processed and not stored or used for training.
How do I know the answer is correct?
Every answer cites page numbers. Click a citation to see the page in the preview. If the document does not contain the answer, the assistant says so instead of guessing.
Does it work with scanned PDFs?
Yes. If a PDF has no text layer, TokPDF offers to run OCR in your browser first, then you can chat with the recognized text.
Which languages are supported?
You can ask in any major language, and documents in English, Chinese, Spanish, German, Japanese and dozens of other languages work. The assistant replies in the language of your question.
